PokerStars.com is a fun and safe place to play poker. It also hit the headlines as the poker room which gave us the 2003 World Series of Poker Champion. Chris Moneymaker registered and started playing online at PokerStars. With a small $40 wager he progressed through all rounds to emerge as winner of the PokerStars preliminary tournament. That earned him an all-expenses-paid trip to the Las Vegas World Series of Poker at Binions Horseshoe Casino. After nine days of REAL poker playing, Chris won the last pot of an amazing $2.4 million.
In Poker Stars there are often tournaments with thousands of entrants and. The competition on Poker Stars is tough, some of the best tournament players in the world play there. The player volume is the second largest online, the biggest part of the traffic is at the tournaments where 20,000 players play at peak hours. Around 5000 cash game players play at peak hours. Poker Stars has a good spread of games, they have all kinds of limits and many tables. The heads-up games are very popular on Poker Stars and also a great fun. The rake for those is a lot better deal than playing heads-up in a cash-game. The rake is the same as the rest of the industry, which means 5% max $3.
